Stuff we offer
Before any line of code is written or any object drawn on screen we need to know your ideas and goals. Creating an outline for your project as well as development timelines is a crucial first step. Starting off with paper prototypes is a great way to get a better understanding of what your project is about. Wireframes and software come together when creating the ideal design for you. We try to use proven techniques that work for both the users and for your company.
By using tools like Invision the process is highly iterative and allows for a lot of back and forth communication until we get it just right. We will focus on all the details to make sure that everything is given the proper care and attention. We work with an enterprise level CMS that is both secure and reliable. It will adapt itself to every single content area on the page to make sure you spend less time figuring out the how and why and more time creating content and keeping your site up to date.
In case you need to boost your online or offline presence, we offer a variety of promotional material as well as creating basic visual guidelines for your company. We also give you the tools and templates to make it easier for you to implement and use created designs for any future purpose. Logos, newsletters, cards, banners, typography etc. The end result is always something that can be used and reused depending on your needs. Ideally you will end up with a style guide that can serve as a jumping off point for any future ideas.
Making sure things are always running smoothly is a full time job. Sometimes the client takes on more than they can handle. The internet is a living thing and things change constantly. We make sure the codebase is always secure and up to date, that new features can be tested and implemented and that if the worst happens, you can always pick up the phone and give us a call to put out the fire. The entire project sits in a secure git repository so that we always have a backup and a way to revert any changes. We create several development environments to ensure that new features can be tested and revised before going live.
How the stuff is made
Lets say we just met and had a great chat, you want us to start working with you and we set up a meeting. We try and gather as much information as we can about you, your business and your goals. Small sketched prototyping might happen depending on the type of project. If we both agree to work together, then we move on to the next phase.
In the next couple of weeks we create low fidelity prototypes on paper or digital wireframes to get the general layout done. You give us feedback and let us know what the full website structure should be. We then move on to creating the actual designs in Photoshop and Illustrator. The designs are then shared with you through Invision which we then use to get as much feedback as possible. Rinse and repeat.
Lets say you approved our design proposal. At this point we set up the server environment, the git repository and take care of all the administration, emails, accounts etc. What began as a digital prototype, now becomes an actual website where you can log in and start putting in content with our help.
After completing all the previous tasks, the site is launched. We continue to support the project with free upgrades and changes for the next three months. We squash bugs, add in last minute changes and make sure everything is running smoothly. After that period ends, we offer continuous maintenance as well as creating promotional material.
